Prevention of Sudden Death in Young People
The purpose of the Association is to prevent sudden death in young people and sudden death caused by hereditary heart diseases.
Via:
- Promoting the inclusion in the public health care system of the necessary genomic diagnostic tests for the early detection of genetic disorders associated with sudden death.
- To inform and raise public awareness about the causes and risk factors of sudden death in young people.
- Its contribution to the elimination of genetic diseases that cause sudden death in future generations.
- Support for families affected by cases of sudden youth death.
- To promote scientific research in the field of preventing sudden death in young people.
Means of achieving the objectives
To achieve its objectives, the Association:
- It organizes informational events, workshops, conferences, and seminars.
- It publishes and distributes informational materials in both print and digital formats.
- It collaborates with scientific institutions, universities, research centers, hospitals, and other organizations in Greece and abroad.
- It organizes awareness-raising activities in schools, sports clubs, and other places where young people gather.
- It collaborates with government agencies to develop health policies aimed at preventing sudden death among young people.
- It is promoting legislative initiatives to incorporate genetic testing into the public health system.
- It supports scientific research through scholarships and funding for research programs.
- It creates networks of volunteers to support its activities.
- It engages in any other lawful activity that contributes to the achievement of its objectives.
